A CaliGal Thanks!

At SoCal Stamp Mania I received an awesome door prize made by Stephanie aka CaliGal. I just LOVE the Post It Pad/Decorated Pen set and keep it next to the phone in our family room. Jami and the gang did the door prize gifting a little different this year, and it was wonderful! After completing the make and take project, you trotted over to Jami and she had you draw a name, then you delivered your door prize to the recipient. The reason I think this is a fab idea is that you get to see who receives your gift and the recipient gets to meet who made their gift. So much better than just hearing a name over the microphone and not knowing what door prize they receive. Anyway, I'm sending this card to Stephanie to thank her for mine.

It is beautiful this morning, crisp and clean, the sun out shining brightly. Of course, it will be a sweltering 90+ by mid afternoon, but you won't find any complaints here. The crisp morning inspired this card. Simple, clean and crisp colors, scalloped panels (made with a corner rounder punch) reminiscent of a window awning, glittered flowers and patterned paper and this happy card will be off in the mail today. Only adhering the top part of the patterned paper lets the bottom float a bit off the card front, giving it a bit of implied movement.

When I saw the glittered patterned paper on a card posted by Stefanie, Nutmeg Stamping, I thumped my forehead, what a GREAT idea! I knew I would copy that idea at some point because it is such a wonderful way to add some glitz to what could be just an ordinary strip of patterned paper. Thanks for the inspiration, Stefanie, you are one smart cookie!
