Pink roses are one my favorites, along with yellow and peach. These two were buds late yesterday afternoon and had bloomed by this morning when I went out to get the paper. For rose color meanings you can visit any number of websites, I found this one over at ProFlowers.

Beautiful roses! I wonder if anyone wears a rose for Mothers Day anymore? When I was growing up, every woman, young & old, wore a rose (to church that Sunday) that meant their mother was either alive or had passed away (in our part of the country anyhow). Can't remember exactily, but a white rose meant your mom was gone & I think a red or pink one meant she was still living. Still think that's a nice touch.
