I've been slumpin' in a big way since I got back from So Cal Mania. Haven't had much mojo since the last card post I made here. Today I received some very sad news, my best friend's father- in- law passed away last night. I always feel inadequate when it comes to what to do to acknowledge the passing of someone who is dear to someone who is dear to me. I'm not sure that makes any sense, but I do know that I am very sad today because she is so sad.
I decided the best gift would be something useful for her and heartfelt from me. I know that there seem to never be enough thank you cards that need to be sent to celebrate life in all its forms, from birth to death. Little did I know when I saw Lori's card back a bit ago that it would be the perfect solution to my creative slump and getting these cards done. Thanks Lori for your beautiful inspiration. It certainly gave me the inspiration I needed and I was able to complete 24 cards this morning after I took the kids to school.
I simplified Lori's card for mass production and changed the colors a bit, but kept the sets and the layout the same. This is a simply stated card that is perfect for its intention, and I know that they will be appreciated.

Val ~ I am sad for you. It is hard when people we love hurt, and we can't change it. Your girlfriend will be touched by your gift, but I am sure she is already well aware the treasure she has in your friendship. Just being there for her will speak volumes. I love your card.
What a perfect card for the occasion. I've been looking for an idea for sympathy cards & you've be my inspiration again - thanks. I know your friend will be touched by your caring thoughts.
This is lovely!
So soft and beautiful - very fitting for the occasion. Very nice!
Hi Val - What a wonderful idea for a gift especially when sometimes you just don't know what to do to help out. Thanks for such a beautiful card - I'm going to CASE it. I made candles for my sister-in-law for her teachers gifts and used this stamp and this card would go perfectly with them. I'm new to you blog and I'm really enjoying it. TFS Dottie K

Valerie, your labor of love will mean so much to her. My heart goes out to everyone who is touched by this sadness. This soft and gentle card is a treasure.
My sympathy to you and your friend and her family...losing a loved one is never easy. You've touched your friends heart through your gift, Val.
Hugs,

Such a thoughtful gesture. I love how you repeated the stamped image on the bottom of the card - very eye catching. TFS
