I get a tad stressed when Stamp Nite is fast approaching and my samples aren't finished at least a week ahead of time. Needless to say, the stress meter was in the red this week! I finished my samples yesterday, before and after art classes down at the school, so today I can breathe easier!
This month a decorated frame and a Cami style Triangle Tri-fold card are the projects. For the frame I will have a variety of papers, the Cuttlebug, and accessories made available. They will choose their own design and personalize their frame. There are different theories on using Mod Podge or not for frames, tins, etc. Sometimes I use it, sometimes don't. This time, after several attempts (not successful I might add) I decided to go MP less. I enjoy the matte, textured finished the paper has and the MP takes that away somewhat. Plus, I do know that many that struggle with MP, the bubbles, and just not being very happy with the end result. I want happy stampers! LOL
For this frame, I used delicious Crate Paper, New Garden Collection, for the base papers and adhered them with Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive. Add a layered Cuttlebug Flower, "fun" in Red Tag alpha letters, a little tag, of course some ribbon, and this frame is ready for a picture. It's easy to sink brads into wooden frames by using your Mat Pak and piercing tool. After you've made the holes, just set the brads in, securing with a spot of glue. Now when I purchased these frames I didn't notice they were *glassless* but they are still very cute and will be fun for everyone to make. I love having classes like this where everyone makes something different based on the papers and bellies they choose, personalities come out when they are set loose!
I also like to show alternative cards, other than the traditional A2 card, and who doesn't like an interactive folding card?! These Triangle Tri-fold cards are super fun and easy to make, yet yield a fun surprize when you open them. Click on the link and Beate will walk you through an easy tutorial! They will choose from a variety of papers (that I've already cut) from the new Palette O Prints pad, and pick their own image from Doodle That, and add any greeting of their choice. All supplies on this card are by SU!
I think it will be a fun night!
