Tonight's the night! The big reveal at Cornish Heritage Farms! Yes, the rumors are true, Thomas Kinkade images on beautiful wood mount rubber stamps!
The journey of this stamp line began with a friendly phone call from Lisa Strahl. Would I like to be on a design team for Cornish Heritage Farms? For a new stamp line that was being produced in conjunction with a very talented painter? The artist in question she could not tell me, only to say that the stamps would be amazing. With blinders on, I said yes.
The Thomas Kinkade Design team are an amazing group of talented stampers, and I feel privileged to be among them!
We, on the design team, were sent a first run image after signing the requisite confidentiality agreement. The image was Garden of Prayer, beautiful full color label not included. The finished stamps now available are wood mount with stunning full color labels! You'll want to display them as well as stamp with them. Anyhoo, I hopped on over to the Thomas Kinkade website to begin to try and understand how to begin to create a card out of this image. My first thought was YIKES (in my head, of course!), can't do it! As this was a design in process, the image was tweaked, and tweaked again, by Richard and Liz to get them to where they are now. Such a process, I had no idea! The end result of their hard work are these stunning rubber stamps.
Well, after playing around for a while, we all figured out we could do this, each one differently than the other; putting our own stamping style into our creations. For me, the discovery of how beautiful these images are stamped monochromatically was the ticket.
For this card, I used the full size image, It Doesn't Get Much Better. The larger layer is inked in Ranger Vintage Photo ink, edge distressed, and mounted to an artichoke layer. The image is stamped a second time in artichoke ink on vanilla, trimmed to a square size, matted in artichoke, corner brads are placed, and the image is mounted on the vintage inked layer with dimensionals. This spotlights the fisherman. The addition of beautiful striped grosgrain and a fishing lure (hooks removed, lure provided with permission from Jay's tackle box) and this is a wonderful card for the fisherman in your life! It certainly received Jay's seal of approval!
Please check back soon for more uploads featuring these beautiful images.
