It's a quiet evening over here, Morgan is off down the street at a friends, Jay and Brett are watching Star Wars (sounds are reverberating around the house from the surround sound!), so I hit SCS to see what was happening over there.
Low and behold, Bethie had already posted Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge. So I played quickly. Tomorrow is a big football day, maybe that's why. We are having a few over for the game and munchies, it will be fun!
Now the past few FS cards I've made I have mass produced. Even though I created this card rather quickly, it is a one of a kind for a one of a kind dear friend. I'm not going to go into specifics, just to say she's dying and hasn't much time left.
Unfortunately due to several reasons, I cannot make the trip to see her, so I plan on writing her a letter to express how she has impacted my life and made me a better person for having known her.
Sometimes cards come together so quickly and come out exactly like envisioned - I love when that happens. That is what happened tonight, this card was made in about 15 minutes because I just felt it when I looked at the inspiration card. I knew what I wanted to do. Even though my final interpretation is quite different from the original, the feel of the card is there. The card is pretty self explanatory, however, I will say the bird was kissed with Canvas and then stamped, to give it the same feel as the patterned paper.
She is always on my mind, and forever in my heart.

{{{{Val}}}} One of the most beautiful things about you is your spirit. I love the way that you share a piece of yourself with people you care for in your projects! I love your card, though I am sorry that you need it for this situation. I know it will touch your friend, and her family. I'll see you soon, very soon, and for that, I am happy.
Your card is so very beautiful, and I'm sure will be much appreciated. I am so sorry about your friend.
What a serenely beautiful card for your friend.
What a beautiful card! I'm so sorry about your friend and that you aren't able to visit. I'm sure this card and your letter will mean so much to her. {{{HUGS}}}
I usually just lurk on your blog, but I just had to tell you today that you made such a beautifully elegant card. I'm so very sorry about the reason you need it, but I'm sure it will touch your friend and mean a lot.
Oh this is beautiful, but such a sad occasion to need it for.
So pretty Val and it would be simple enough to do at a workshop! I'll be praying for you and your friend.
Val, this card is beautiful, I've had a soft sky card on my mind with this set as well. I'm sorry that this beautiful card is needed for such an occasion, but I've recently picked this set up myself and I do believe that the images, and the sentiment is perfect for this type of card that we all need now and again. Thinking of you.
Your card is beautiful, my heart goes out to you and your friend, I am sure she will love the card and the heartfelt letter that will go with it. Thank goodness for beautiful memories.
Your card is beautiful and could not be more perfect for you and your friend. I know your letter will mean more to her than you will probably ever know. {{HUGS}}

Hugs to you Val. What a beautiful heartfelt card! She will love it.
Val ...
I believe that our very best that we can give to our friends is that which we can "give them now, while they are here, so that they might "know" the feelings, "feel" our love, "hear" our thoughts, "react" to our expressions, and "comprehend" the power of our feelings while they are here to experience it. I'm happy that you were able to do just that. ~Tex
