For those of you missing spring, here's a little dose of spring in a bouquet from my backyard. The bearded iris are so dependable, blooming several times a year without much care to begin with. They are always the first flowers to bloom after our winter is on its way out. The alstroemeria are also dependable and the long lasting blooms love the pots on our front walkway and make for wonderful cut flowers as well. The iris stalks are very tall so it was hard to capture them in the photo, but they sure look purty in the vase in the family room!
Lawns are mowed, flowers clipped and now the expected rain can come this way!

bragger... :) I'm still waiting for that SoCal sunshine to show up in the midwest! Flowers are gorgeous!
Here! Here! to what Lori said. I had to come see where you live in hopes that some of this might be headed to the northwest. My daffodils aren't even bloomed yet and we had snow on Monday. Hopefully my wishing for spring is more than just wishful thinking and it will be warmer soon!
beautiful...*sigh*...my iris are barely up out of the ground!
My iris are just now peeking out of the ground......I won't see actual blooms until JULY at least!
Didn't I say there should be a rule about us sharing the same coast - and sharing the same WEATHER?!!! LOL!!
BEAUTIFUL picture, Val!
Lucky you to have blooming flowers!! We just finished our last snowfall for the season (I hope) and now it is sunny but a little cool....keep sharing pics of your flowers - they are gorgeous and so pretty!

beautiful I guess your not in Ohio!! Thanks for sharing Cynthia
ok, this is just freaky! like most of the others, our Iris are just starting to peep above the ground. time to go out and trim away the old leaves and stems from last year and check for borers.
i never thought of alstromerias being grown in the U.S. they are a Peruvian wild flower used extensively in the U.S. floral business. i learned a trick to remember how to pronounce their name. think of "i'll still marry ya". :)
thanks for the photo!

What wonderful flowers...we don't have any more snow, but it's still quite cool. Flowers are still about 2 months away, boo hoo.
