Doubles for me, Candy for You!

Sooo.....a miscommunication left me with doubles of the brand spanking new Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends release this month. I emailed Liz and asked if she wanted me to post them back to her, nope, she said absolutely not, offer them up as blog candy. Generous is just one of the many complimentary words that describe Liz and Richard of CHF! They are a very special company!

From today until Tuesday, August 19th, leave a comment about a train memory or experience and I'll enter you into a random drawing to win this entire set of stamps. Pretty cool, huh!

Okay, the minor details:
- one post per person
- no anonymous posts
- you must include a train memory or experience, if you don't have one, that's okay, just say so!
- as I ship from my home using USPS Click and Ship Flat Rate Priority Mail, only residents of the United States are eligible.

So my train memory....

I grew up here in San Diego and we visited our grandmother who lived in Bay Park frequently. Since she lived only about 20 minutes away we spent quite a bit of time with her, everyday visits just to spend the day or overnighters, and of course, special holidays and birthdays. I feel very fortunate to have had both of my grandparents living close to us as we grew up.

Anyway, back to my train memory: One of the *field* trips she would take us 4 kids on was to take the train to Del Mar, have lunch, and then come back to her home. I remember thinking we were on the train for a really long time....LOL, it's only about 20 miles or something, really short, but along the coast so there was lots to look at. I also remember stopping for Hostess Snowballs as part of the day - ahhh, big pink and fluffy treats!

Oh, well, I guess I'll post first! I remember as a kid riding the train from my hometown Slidell, LA into New Orleans, LA. Now, this is really a 30 minute drive, no reason why we couldn't drive, but my mom thought an adventure was needed! We would go to Uptown New Orleans and sight see along the beautiful old oak trees and of course, hit the two story Mickey D's, which was a big hit for me as a kid!

Thanks for the chance to win! :) Have a great weekend!

I've never ridden on a train, but each time I see cartoon trains I think of the book "The Little Engine that Could." I had a high school teacher that gave me a copy when I graduated from high school, and I have always remembered that.

WOW!! Am I first??? How cool is that??? What an awesome BLOG CANDY treat and YES Liz is so SWEET like that!!! Okay, I don't have a real train memory...but when I was a kid....my favorite ride at Six Flags was the train...I know...I'm a dork...but I loved the feeling of traveling in the outside open air and seeing different things you don't normally see just walking thru!!! Thanks for the chance to win....it would be so COOL to win these for my Bday on the 19th!!!

My almost 2 year old son loves Thomas the Train, so I would love to win your awesome blog candy! My train memory is from when I was very young. My relatives from Pennsylvania were visiting us in Texas and we went to see a train exhibit in Rusk. We got to ride on the train from one city to the next, about a 30 minute ride. It was so much fun! :)

The only trip I've taken via train was a short scenic ride in CT when my twins were babes in arms and my oldest was 2 1/2, so we're talking more than 6 years ago. We're planning a family trip via train from AZ to IA. I can hardly wait! I'm sure that our youngest will be impressed because he's a big Thomas fan.

Hm, I think the only train memory I have is when I was about 8... we happened to stay in this little motel that had saloon-style swinging doors... and train tracks RIGHT outside! I remember the train waking me up about a hundred times that night, and my dad putting a loonie on the tracks for me. I think I still have that loonie...

Michelle Clark said...

I would so love these stamps. My train memories are very recent. I have a 3 1/2 yr old nephew and he is crazy for trains. I live close to a train track, but you can't see the trains. One day we were outside when we heard the train, I quickly got him in the car and we went to see the train. Now, every time he hears the train he wants to go see it again. Such fun times we have together!

How fun Val! My favorite train memory is from the 3rd grade. My dad was in the Air Force and we were stationed in West Germany (before the wall came down.) Anyway, my girl scout troup took a field trip to Berlin. The only way to get there was to take a long train ride through East Germany. It was one of the cool trains with cabins that had pull out beds. We had so much fun playing card games and looking out at the East German countryside. Good times!

Sadly, I've never ridden on a train, but I've always been curious as to what a train ride would be like. My youngest right now is 2 years old and his name is Thomas so I've been in the process of decorating his room like Thomas the train. I've been eyeballing this stamp set and considering buying it, but if I could win it for free that would be even better. Thanks for the opportunity.

Hi Val, I live in Motown, so trains are not a big thing. But I did have the opportunity to spend a couple week vacation in Japan. Trains are a big thing there and you can set you watch by them. I was with a friend and we got on what we thought was our train. But it left early. A gentleman noticed our confusion and looked at our tickets. We were on the wrong train heading I have no idea where. He very nicely got off at the next stop and helped us by walking us to a ticket window where we were redirected and only a little behind schedule. It is not good to be lost in a country where you don't speak the language and their alphabet looks like a bunch of pretty pictures!

I've only ridden on "historical" trains but my favorite memory is holding one up!! As a teen, I regularly attended band camp in Keystone, South Dakota. The historic 1880 Train ran through Keystone. The highlight of each camp was waiting to "hold-up" the train and then serenade the passengers.

I actually have several train memories, but my most recent is from being on an overnight train in Europe. The conductor (I guess that's who she was???) actually TOOK everyone's passports away from them, and took them to her little room and kept them there overnight! I was so afraid that she'd drop them between the cars and they'd be lost forever, or she'd give mine to someone else accidentally, or she'd forget to give it back before our stop and then we'd be stuck without one, or... well, you can imagine all the horrors going through my head having my passport out of my possession for an entire night! I was so nervous about it that I didn't sleep for the whole ride! Hope everyone else has happier train memories than mine! :) Sure would like that Thomas set, though! Thanks for the opportunity!

Hello,

Thomas is really big with my little boys. I never would have thought that I have as many train memories as I currently have. My husband and oldest son collect HO trains and hear about them all the time. Every time we are near a train we take a ride. My favorite train ride was from Winslow, Arizona up to the Grand Canyon. They even arranged a train robbery that my kids thought was just great. Thanks for your great blog.

Kelle said...

My boys have loved Thomas the Tank Engine since the 1st was 18 months old and the 2nd little guy was 2. My oldest just turned 8 yesterday and received a train that he had been wanting for 4 years (and we couldn't find until a recent re-release of the toy). I have always searched for good Thomas rubber stamps and have bought them from as far away as Australia 5 years ago, when Australia seemed a little farther away than it does today due to the internet. Thank you for the chance to win some great Thomas stamps!

I was about 4 when I rode the old Heber Creeper in Heber, Utah. All I remember was how big it was.

A few years ago we went back "home" to visit our families and we stopped at the Golden Spike Monument in Northern Utah. It was a neat thing to see...even if it was clear out in no man's land :) It was really interesting watch the train demonstration they did with the old trains...simulating the Golden Spike.

:) I've had several train experiences! I lived down by Durango, Colorado for a while, and they have a special offer in the fall for locals to ride the Narrow Gauge train from Durango to Silverton - it's a long trip, but so pretty in the Colorado fall w/ the Aspen trees changing color. And a couple summers ago my DH and I rode the Georgetown Loop train. Around the same time, we went up to Montana for his uncle's birthday, and as a VP of a major railroad, he got to use the company owner's private train to host his friends and family for his retirement ride. This was a super-plush train and the country was beautiful! But the most fun? I got to (while the train was moving at a pretty good clip) put in earplugs, climb through the engine car, go out along the side of the engine to the engineer's cab and then, out in the middle of nowhere, we came to a dirt road crossing and I GOT TO BLOW THE HORN. :) Ridiculously thrilling!

Sorry to go on and on, but thanks for the chance at the adorable stamps. :)

my train memory, was taking my nephew to Steamtown, PA. He was about 3. He got out and saw one train, and ran over and said "oh wow" then he saw another train, and said "oh wow, oh wow" he ran in circles, and each train he saw, merited one more oh wow...

We moved into this house 7 months ago. The first night, my 6 year old came into our room & whispered, "Mom, I can hear Thomas!" I woke up quickly & asked him who was Thomas. He wanted me to go into his room. Once we got in there, he said, "Listen." It was the train! :) He now sleeps with a fan in his room!!

Trains! Trains are popular in my house, DH is quite the railfan....of course Thomas isn't his style.... But these would be fab for cards for little ones!

WOW!Those bring back so many memories when our boys were small! Tanner LOVED thomas. He used to say "bomos" when he was little as couldn't say Thomas. We used to take the boys to Green Bay,WI every year when Thomas the Tank was at the Railroad Museum. I have pics of Tanner & Tony with Sir Tophamhat. They loved riding the Thomas train. Thank you for the chance to win them!

Well, my memory isn't of a real train, but of the Thomas the Tank Engine Trains! Both of my boys loved them. But especially DS2. When he was 2 years old, he broke his thigh and was in a lower body cast for 5 1/2 weeks. Even in that huge cast, he wanted to lay in the floor and play with his trains! And of course we HAD to have the big book of Thomas stories and had to read from it every night before bed. Those were the days! : )

My train memory would be taking my 2 boys to ride the Thomas train when they were little, they loved it, but Sir Topham Hat kinda scared them! Thanks for the chance to win!

My son Jackson is 10 now, but when he was a lot younger, he loved Thomas the Tank Engine. We spent a small fortune on wooden trains/tracks/buildings and videos too. I remember many days playing trains with him on the living room floor while watching Thomas. I would've loved to have had some Thomas stamps for him back then. I have lots of pictures of him playing with his trains that would look awesome scrapbooked using Thomas images.. thank you so much for having the chance for us to win. thanks, Pam

I remember visiting the train park a few years back when my kids were a wee bit younger (altho they're only 6 & 9 :-). It was a park in Scottsdale, AZ. They just thought it was the coolest thing to ride the "train". It was almost like a toy train that had little seats and mini railroad tracks. That was the only reason they called it a "train park", otherwise, from what I remember there was a merri-go-round and a big playground.
Fun times! Thanks to CHF and you for the chance to win!!

one of my favorite was a dinner train that my husband coordinated with the train to let us videotape a "video" that he needed to do for an AudioVisual college class. He taped a movie to Kenny Rogers "The Gambler", we all had parts on the train. It was a hoot. we still watch it occasionally.

I was fortunate enough to spend a year in Europe while I was in college and did a lot of traveling by train then. My favorite trip was from Austria to Venice, Italy, through the Alps. My mom and sister had come to visit, and I played tour guide on our trip. It is still a very fond memory.

Okay........So I've never been lucky enought to ride on a "real train". Have always wanted to - I don't know, I think there's something "romantic" about riding on a train and watching the countryside go by. But again, since I've never actually been on a train, maybe I'm way off the mark - lol! But thanks for the chance at awesome blog candy!

I have many train memories starting with a train went through my backyard and I remember the conductor waving from the caboose everyday. It was a daily ritual- the 12:30 train meant it was time to feed the kitty and then off to a nap.
My train memory for my son involves Thomas the Tank Engine. My son had a severe speech imparement and some of the first words he pronounced clearly were the Thomas the Tank engines names! He learned his colors that way too!
I LOVE your blog candy. I have been going back and making a scrapbook of all the times we went to see "Thomas". These would be great to make backgrounds and cool things on the pages!

My dad used to work for Six Flags over GA, and I remember going there and being able to ride the train around the park. It always seemed SO cool to me. And when they would stop and add more water to it. I thought it was the neatest thing. More recently, my favorite train memory is riding the train around the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, a nice way to take a break in the middle of the day to just see things and relax.

Oh, I love Thomas!

When I was a little girl, my family used to rent a cabin along a river in central Idaho every summer. Train tracks were just down the hill, and twice a day a lumber train went by. My brother and I used to sit just up the hill from the train and watch it sloooooowly go around the curvy river bend. *sigh* Those are very precious memories!

Oh my, that would be so fun to get to win those stamps! I've been debating ordering them for my store as we sell Thomas the Train toys but haven't been sure that my stampers will buy. This would be a great chance to give them a test-run!

My favorite train memory is always running to the window to watch it go by at my grandparents house. There were no trains in the town where I grew up, so it was always very fascinating to see at their house. I also really loved the 2-3 times we took the train for a trip to Toronto when I was in my teens!

Kelli said...

My best train memory was about 5 years ago when my son was 4 years old or so. He loved trains (and still does) so when we lived in Northern Virginia sometimes we would take the commuter train in to Union Station in Washington, DC for no other reason than just to let him ride the train. One time on the way back we took an AmTrack train and sat in the observation car. The walls and ceiling were mostly glass so you could see everything. The look on my son's face as we watched all the scenery go by was priceless. He was totally enthralled. Thanks for the opportunity!

My one and only train memory has to do with Thomas the train!! (ironic eh??) my parents along with my son and I drove 3 hours to a city that was hosting THE thomas train.. it was poring rain, but man, the look on my boy's face when he saw the full-sized thomas pulling cars behind him made it all worth it. (P.S. Thomas didn't actually have a real engine, he was the front car, and the engine was behind him.. it was cool..)

OMG Val, what a generous prize!

All of my train memories are of Thomas the Tank engine. Having a little 5 year old, Thomas loving boy has me knowing Thomas and all of his friends quite well! LOL! Heck, we even have a Thomas humidifier for the wintertime (now that's dedication). So I guess you could say all of my train memories center around Thomas the Tank engine and the great memories made with my son.

So the only train memory I have whatsoever was when I stayed abroad in France in high school. Unfortunately my memory of it is very limited because I slept the whole way from Paris to La Rochelle!

Lisa Lin said...

I introduced my son to Thomas the Tank Engine when he was 18 months old. It soon became a new found hobby...obsession may be a better word. We played with the trains, built tracks, read the books, watched the videos, even bought Thomas clothes, pjs and underwear.

One day we found out that "A Day Out with Thomas" was coming to Austin, so we bought our tickets to ride Thomas. I don't know who was more excited to finally meet Thomas. I think I almost cried b/c it made me think of all those hours my son and I spent together playing with that little blue engine.

I hope I win as I have lots and lots of Thomas pictures to scrapbook. This would certainly give me the motivation to get them into his album.

I have 2 fond memories of a train ride, but one really stands out in my memory. When I was in the 6th grade, a great aunt had taken myself and a cousin on a history trip to Williamsburg and Jamestown, VA. We ended up at the Greenbriar Hotel in W. VA, which was close to her home, but a train ride away from ours! She put us on the train for both of us to experience our first train ride, which I will always remember and her.

My train experience is actually a Thomas train experience!! My son is 4 so we're still in the middle of the Thomas obsession! We took him to Tweetsie Railroad when he was 2 to see and ride Thomas. He was so excited he couldn't stand it!! Unfortuntely the minute he heard the whistle he cried!! He was scared to death. He knew Thomas had a whistle but didn't realize it was so loud! Anyway, once he saw Thomas, he was over his fear and ready to ride! I have TONS of super cute pictures to scrapbook and these stamps would really help! :)
Thanks for a great blog!

One of my most memorable train experiences was in Australia about 10 years ago. We rode the train from the Gold Coast up to Gladstone, overnight, with 20 other poeple in my family. My 2 year old nephew and I somehow curled up on two train seats. No one got any sleep, and the next morning we took a boat out to Heron Island on a very stormy sea. After a long night with no sleep on a train, we then all threw up from motion sickness on the boat. We were very happy to arrive on the island after a long journey! It was so worth it!

I have many train memories, but I will list a few of them. The first is taking the train from St. Paul Minnesota to the Southern part of Iowa along the Mississippi to see my husbands family for the first time, we were not married yet and had so much fun and the view along the Mississippi was breathtaking. That was over 35 years ago. wow, can't believe it!!
My next memory is really not a memory as much as a story, I was looking high and low for a Thomas the Train stamp set a month ago for my grandson's birthday card never found one, I was so frustrated. About a week ago I saw Cornish Heritage Farms was selling them I go so excited, just haven't ordered them yet, would be so cool to get these for free! Thanks for at least a chance, I will order one even if I don't win though, cause my grandson is crazy for Thomas the Train!!!

My train memory is when my husband and I got married 18 years ago and took a train to his hometown, Santa Barbara. He loves trains and we got the cool sleeper car with beds etc. The memorable parts...well I should only share one of them - is when we were delayed because the tracks in northern CA were flooded. From our train car window we could see the firemen and rescue crews along side the tracks - making sure that we did NOT go through the area before it was safe.

Well I don't have any personal experience with trains but a good friend of mine has a family tradition, "Train camp" they call it. They all love trains so much that every year the whole family goes and camps out by the trains, and spends the day there hanging out with the family. One of the family members is even buried by tracks so he is still very much a part of the tradition. This is just such a touching tradition when I heard about it so when you mentioned trains that is what came to mind.

I have several train memories, but I'll just mention a couple. We took the train from Orange County to San Diego as part of my stepson's birthday day. They dropped us at the bus station which took us right up to the gate at Sea World. We had a great day, got sunburned (oops!) and were so thankful that we didn't have to drive all the way home. Not that it's far, but we were sooooo tired. My other memory is of my 2 year old pointing out every train she saw on our way driving from California to Colorado and back. From that trip on, she loved Thomas and all his friends. Thanks for bringing up such happy memories.

My train memory is a very happy one. My grandparents wanted to take me and my two sons (at the time very young) on a train ride from San Diego to San Juan Capistrano. My best train memories are of my son playing with Thomas train stuff "all the time"! He's 10 now so he's kind of outgrown it. I also have a little boy that I have babysat for since he was about 4 months old and he LOVES Thomas the train. Every time he comes over I still have to help him set up a "really cool track". These are memories that I help build with my son and my friend's little boy!! They are precious for sure!

My memory... As a child, I always counted the train cars going by when we were stopped in traffic by a train. I supposed my mom taught me to do it so I wouldn't be so impatient, but it turns out I love doing it so much, that I STILL catch myself doing it as an adult!

In 1965 I was 11 years old and I spent 3 months with my grandparents in Finland. We travelled a lot by train, during the day with regular seats but at night we'd get a *bunk* -- VERY tiny -- LOL!!! They would always serve open faced sandwiches with cucumbers on top -- I think of that so often when I eat cucumbers, and we have cukes in abundance this time of year -- LOL!! What a generous blog candy!!! Thanks for the chance!!!

I don't have any train memories...but I can't wait to take my son on a ride on one someday! He loves the GeoTrax ones and I just know he'll be totally interested in a *real* trian ride! He also loves to stamp....so these would be a hit with him!

I remember my first and only train travel. My sister in law and I rode the train to pick up her sister at the airport. I remember leaving really early in the morning and watching the sunrise. What fun!!

Ha it's funny that your memory is from San Diego. I just moved there...well Chula Vista and slowly discovering the place. Haven't been to Delmar yet. I am actually planning to take the train to LA.

My train memory is from Ottawa Toronto. During part of my university my parents moved back to Ottawa and I used to take almost monthly train rides...it was about a 4 hr trip that invariably turned into 4.5-5 hrs!

I used to take the train right after I finished my exams and during those hrs every mistake I made during my exams came flooding back. I'd step out of the train almost in tears convinced that I just failed out! I am sure my dad hated picking me up from the station!

I grew up in Chicago and we would ride the train downtown to have a fun day in the city. My son grew up loving Thomas and all things train, so it was fun to take him back to Chicago and do that with him. We also let him ride "Thomas" when it came through town -- so these stamps would be great to decorate those yet tp be completed scrapbook pages!

The only train I've been on was at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI. When I saw these stamps, I just had to comment how much my Grandson would love them. He is autistic and loves trains, and Thomas is his favorite, so I hope that we are the lucky ones to win your blog candy, if not, I know I'm lucky (blessed) for having Nick in my life. Thanks for the chance to win and I hope you have a blessed weekend!

A couple of years ago we took the grandchildren to ride the train in Durango, Colorado. Both boys were in love with trains at the time (as they all are at some point in time). After the ride, the conductor invited one of our boys to pull the rope to blow the whistle. I really thought he was going to faint from happiness and excitement. It was so much fun to watch his pure joy.

My most exciting trip on a train was when I was four. My parents took my brother and I from Kansas to California. I remember having a blast playing on the "bunk beds" and eating lots of peanuts. I hope to take my three little ones on a train adventure soon.

Thank you for the chance to win!

I know I don't qualify, but I'm tellin' ya anyhow! *wink*

My one and only train adventure - a year after high school, my best bud Todd and I rode from Vancouver BC to Winnipeg (and back again 2 weeks later). It was winter - and the trip through the Rocky Mountains and seeing Lake Louise in dawn's first light, glistening snow - it was something I will ALWAYS remember! And the trip itself was a riot! (Two 18 year olds travelling half way across Canada? Please! WAY too much fun!)

I've only ridden on trains at amusement parks, but my Dad has a great love for trains and also collecting trains. Although my memory is not one of riding on them it is of a restored Lionel train that was my Dad's when he was a kid. It hadn't worked for many years and about 5 years ago my DH and I had it restored and surprised my Dad for Christmas with it. He was thrilled and even teary eyed b/c he hadn't been able to get it to work since he was a young boy. He truly was like "a kid at Christmas" when he saw that train going around the track under the tree.
Thanks for the chance to win!

Pick me, pick me!! All kidding aside, I'm loving these stamps!

Ok, so here is my train story: when Hank (my 13yo) was young, he was a terrible, I mean terrible, car rider, so when we'd go visit my sister in Chicago, we'd always take the train so the trip would be more enjoyable for all! I can still picture Kendra in her cute pink baseball cap and lilac trench coat sitting on the wooden bench in the train station, just waiting for the train...all the while eating all the snacks we'd brought along for the ride, he he!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Hugs,
Amy

What a great memory comes to mind.
In 2000, after 23 years, I was able to visit with my British friend again. We took the train from London to Birmingham and had a wonderfully relaxing time enjoing the views of the British country site. To watch shepards with their herds of sheep was the most memorable part of all.
Thank you for your inspiration!!!

My husband is a major train buff so every place we visit that has trains to ride or train museums to visit, we HAVE to do that. We were riding the Bluebell Train in England and my husband was talking trains with one of the passengers when the gentleman said "You must be a rail fan!" And my husband replied in an off hand sort of way "oh, kind of". Our son and I just about fell off our seats laughing at him. Kind of!?

My Mom couldn't wait to have me (haha) so I was quite premature and super tiny. My first train trip at 4 months old found my bed being the dresser drawer in the cabin of the sleeping car on our way to San Francisco from LA. Thank you for the **candy** opportunity! Love your blog and visit you everyday.

My favorite train memory is with my son. We rode the Polar Express that runs through the hill country. Of course it is not really cold in Texas but we still got to hear the story and drink cocoa. It was really great for both of us because I had never ridden a train and he was in love with trains (especially Thomas).
Thanks!

When my son was 8 years old, we put him on the train with his 78 year old great aunt, then rushed to meet the train at the other end. My son cried all the way home because he thought we had left him with "this old woman". Poor baby.

Hi, Valerie! What a generous giveaway! My nephew is crazy about Thomas, so I was planning to purchase the stamps, but winning them would definitely be better! ;)

My train memory: Chris and I took a dinner train ride for our 15th wedding anniversary three years ago. It was a beautiful, scenic ride with fantastic food!

Thanks for the chance to win!

Val I only have one train ride memory and it is a bit vague. I think we were going on a field trip for school and of course proper dress attire was required. All the girls had to wear dresses and boys suit and ties. Well let me tell you the old time train seats must have been made of burlap all I could remember the entire time was being so uncomfortable from the pricky seats! Funny how you can remember something as dumb as that, it must have been very tramatic:) I can't even recall where the trip was too but do recall I was in awe over the speed we were going.

My first and only train memory was about 10 years ago. We traveled from Michigan to Illinois. It was great just to sit back and relax and be able to play with the kids (ages 3 and 5) instead of doing the drive all alone otherwise.

BUT - what I'm really excited about is that next weekend, we're going as a family to see Thomas the Tank engine, ride on a real Thomas train and see Sir Topem Hat!!!! Isnt' that great? My three year old is going to be so happy! It will be such a joy just to see his face. I'm sure next weekend's train trip will be my forever favorite and fondest memory. In case you didn't know - he's a HUGE Thomas fan. (Another reason these stamps would be so awesome to win) Thank you so much for the chance!

We live in a town that doesn't have any passenger trains. When our neighbor who works for Burlington Northern offered to take us on a special one day only for employees only passenger train trip, we were thrilled. It was very interesting, but there ended up being some debris on the track and the trip ended up taking several hours longer than we expected. When it was done, my neighbor asked my daughter (who was about 6 at the time) how she liked it. I could tell that my neighbor was really proud of everything and was expecting an enthusiastic response from my daughter. My daughter replied, "It was really really really really really really really LONG!" So much for that!

Train ride in Europe traveling Paris to Lisbon. 13 hours. No one spoke English. We thought dinner was included, and after a 4-course meal they wanted a cash payment. It's like a Mastercard commercial. A nice French woman helped us out and we made a friend during the remaining ride. No sights to see because it was at night, but the memory will remain one of my funnest. Thanks for the chance to win some really cute Thomas the Train blog candy! My nephew lovessssss Thomas, would make for a nice page layout. Toot toottttttt!

Oh, those are so cute! Both my kids loved Thomas when they were young. I have saved many of their Thomas things. We actually went on a Thomas ride at the Snoqualmie Railroad. We got pictures with Sir Topham Hat, too. Lots of fun!

Whoever gets these is sure to create lovely things for a little Thomas fan to enjoy. So nice of Liz to allow you to offer them.

I was thrilled that he picked me at 15!! We had a great time, Toronto won! We spent the night at the Royal York and came home the next day on the train. A wonderful experience for him and a most memorable time for me with my son!

I never got a chance to ride a train when I was small so when a steam engine came to a small town in the next state I jumped on the chance for my two small sons to ride. I took their grandma with us to ride with them. She had rode the trains as a small child to visit her grandparents. I drove them the 40 miles to buy thier tickets, put them and their grandma on the train.I waved at them until the train was out of sight and then jumped in my car, drove like a nut to get to another small town 30 miles away to be there when they got off the train. They loved it! Their grandma kept thanking me for letting her ride too. She had a great time telling us about the times she had rode as a small child. My sons still talk about their great train adventure. Mary jjjcamp at hotmail dot com

I used to take the train on school vacations to visit my grandmother. It would take about 8 hours to get there, but I loved the journey - spending time delving into a book and looking out the window imagining peoples lives in the houses we passed. Good memories!

I don't really have a train story to tell other than the fact that I substitute teach at an elementary school. I sub in a special needs class a good bit and one of my little boys talks about Thomas the Train all the time. He draws pictures and makes train noises. He builds the train track with our blocks and puts the train cars on it. He is such a joy to be with. If I am chosen for the Thomas the Train stamp, I will take it to his classroom and give it to him and show him how to use it.

Thanks for a chance to win!

My latest train memory is from last year. I had just moved to TX and my brother and family had bought an extra ticket to "Thomas' Day Out." It was so nice to hang out as a family and watch my nephews enjoy all of the activities of the day, which we ended with a ride on Thomas. One of the things the boys did that day was stamp headbands with Thomas stamps, so I have been waiting anxiously to get my hands on some for them. Thanks! Kristi

We took my 2 boys on the "Polar Express" train ride several years ago. My favorite memory of the trip is when Santa came to hand out his special gift to all of the kids. My youngest, 2 at the time, was excited to get a gift personally delivered by Santa. But my oldest son, 4 at the time, refused to take the bell from Santa! He wasn't scared of Santa - he was mad that all he was getting was a bell! My husband and I tried so hard not to laugh, but even Santa couldn't help but chuckle!

I grew up in suburban Chicago and my dad took the train to and from work every day. When I got older, I was allowed to go DOWNTOWN Chicago with a friend - when I was 12 or 13! There's no way I would've allowed MY kids to do that at that age, but "times were different then". I remember my dad telling me how to find the train station if I got lost - look for the tallest building - then it was the Prudential Building! Living in the suburbs means riding trains daily for many suburbanites!

Wow, my Dad worked for the Union Pacific for 35 years, so I have LOTS of train memories. Trains were and still are our whole lives, basically! My 4 year old LOVES trains, and Grandpa is loading him up. My favorite memory was when we were riding Amtrack from Nebraska to Chicago for a family thing. I was in the glass topped observation car in a thunderstorm, and the lightning across the sky was BEAUTIFUL! Never seen anything like that again.

Anyway, thanks for letting me share! Thanks for the chance to win. My little guy is a HUGE Thomas fan, so we would get alot of use from these!

That's one thing in my life that I would like to do....is ride a train. My grandparents live next to the railroad, so we would hear the train go by tooting it's horn at least 2-3 times per week. We would place a penny on the tracks and wait for it to get run over so we can collect it as a keepsake. Thanks for the chance to win some great goodies!

My grandparents lived near a train track when we were kids. Every time we'd visit them in Michigan, we'd walk to the track and place pennies on the rail for the train to flatten them.

My favorite train memory is actually the first time I was ever on a train. We took my daughter on 'The Great Pumpkin' train-just a couple miles outside of town to the pumpkin patch but it was fun-can't wait to take my almost 3 year old son, as he loves trains-more specifically, Thomas!!
