This stamp was sent to me by Becky, one of the CHF gals who actually visited the farm where all CHF stamps are made. A challenge was issued. You know the story, challenge me.....well I have to give it a go.
Mushroom Lane is a funky, whimsical line (unmounted or wood mount) that CHF has had for a some time. It's unlike anything I own or stamp like, but it was actually quite fun to color in with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I merely followed the insert from the packaging for color reference.
I tried and tried to come up with a coordinating sentiment...anyone? I thought that "never, never, never give up" a sentiment from one of the Mona Lisa Moments sets could work if you were sending this to someone in the fire academy....would have to be a gal though, not sure a guy would appreciate the card. I think flames would need to be involved to interest a guy. *wink*
Remember, you can always click on any picture and enlarge it to see the details.
Anyway, challenge finished. What do you think?

Yeah, that pretty much works on me everytime too...
I love it, and took the challenge myself tonight!
You rock!

I have Cornish Heritage Frams' Mona Lisa Moments Motivational Centers, and many of those would be nice sentiments on the inside. The outside is too lovely as it is and the sentiments might be too large. Options include:
Make each day your masterpiece.
"Why not" is a slogan for an interesting life.
Do waht you can, with what you have, where you are.
Two roads diversed in a wood and I took the one less travelled by and that has made all the difference.
I've got a thing for cute mushrooms and this one is over the TOP cute! I love it just plain as any addition to the front would take away from the fabulous image!
You knock my socks off girl!!!!!!!
Valerie!!! This is sooo over the top cute! Your coloring is phenomenal! Love it!
I know you get these all the time, but I nominated you for a blog award.. check my blog for the details.
Val this is WONDERFUL! I love it! I'm glad you rose the the challenge. :)
Beautiful Val, love all the white and your coloring, gorgeous!
In keeping with the Fire Station theme, how about:
"Call us if you need help blowing out ALL those birthday candles"!
Or "Happy Birthday Hot Stuff"
YOur coloring on this is fabulous!
Cute card. I have a couple of the Mushroom Lane stamps myself. As for a saying, how about "I'm all fired up..." and on the inside put "to hear about your good news" or "about your engagement(retirement, anniversary, whatever)". Also any kind of "over the hill" birthday could be used here - something about needing help with the candles. LOL Thanks for sharing.
I was stumped for a sentiment until I read your comments. These ladies can really come up with some good ones. I love the card. Your coloring is wonderful and this image is so, so, cute !!
I think this card is perfect the way it is. Anything else would make it crowded. The stamp, ribbon and brads are all it needs on the outside. You wouldn't want to detract from all your hard work! :)
