Upsy Daisy Masterpiece~

Another challenge for today from SCS. Thursday is the Ways to Use it Challenge and today the catagory was "Framed." I decided to make an inspiration frame using 2 rectangular chipboard coasters. I die cut a circle in the top coaster with a Nestabilities Circle Die. A piece of patterned paper was similarly cut and adhered to the coaster. This created a frame opening for the coaster that was attached to the bottom side with dimensional foam.

The outer frame came together just how I imagined it in my head. I stamped the sentiment on a strip and banner cut the end before adhering it to the frame. I finally broke down and got the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch today, I'd been resisting for some time, alas, I needed it! :) Three punched butterflies adorn the perimeter of the circle. The image layer, however, took a bit of putzing to get it right.I originally had a several different images that I was playing with: watercolored, white background, 2 step, colored background, shoot, there could have been more, I can't remember. The white looked so stark and the others didn't work either. When I stamped Upsy Daisy with Versafine Vintage Sepia onto a coordinating piece from the mat pad it was the perfect solution. Before adhering the coasters together I set 2 jumbo eyelets and knotted a length of stitched ribbon to serve as a hanger.

Now off to clean up the explosion!

I love this! I might do something similar for some friends in a women's group I belong to. Where does one find rectangular coasters?
