Fishing is one of Jay's favorite things, so I thought making his Father's Day card with the OCL's Spotlight of the Week, Bear-ly Fishin', was perfect. Although I'm not sure he's ever caught a shoe before! LOL I'm way ahead and not last minute with his card, a feat in itself! Usually I'm scrambling the last few days before Father's Day, but with end of school activities next week, the week will fly by. So I am glad I took the time after my coffee this morning to color this image and put the card together. This will be his card from the kids.
After coloring the image with Copic Markers, it was ticket corner punched and matted on
SU!'s Wild Wasabi cardstock. Four orange brads anchor the corners. The sentiment was oval punched and popped up with dimensionals. Another fish was colored in, circle punched, matted on an orange circle and added as an accent near the lower right of the image. "Manly" twill ribbon and Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy and Snorkel patterned paper complete the card.

I used lots of Copics for coloring and Atyou Glitter pens for highlighting the reels, flowers, and grass. The colors used are in the picture to the right.
To give the bears a fuzzy texture, I colored them in a darker brown, then did hash marks all over using a lighter brown.
I decided to make the sign a weathered gray so that it wasn't all brown in the image area. I used a few C Copics to get the result I was looking for.
Riley has been ever so patient, I'd better don my walking clothes, put on my iPod and get outta here!
Have a great day!

p.s. eta: Before anyone thinks I love masking, OCL design members have access to digital images if they do not own the set. As I don't own Bear-ly Fishin', I used a print sheet to make this card. I am not a masker by nature and don't want to pretend that I am.
