School's Out for Summer Challenge~

Jami needed someone to be the DD/DDA challenge hostess this month or it was just not going to happen. When I mentioned to her Brett just got out of school and that School's Out for Summer would be a fun theme, she said to go for it.

So these were the simple instructions, nothing too difficult as I know summer can be a busy time:

Challenge Focus: Create a project that screams school's out for summer. Do you like the beach, camping, the mountains, bbqing, you name it, whatever screams summer to you is fair game.

Required Element: Mini brads

Restricted Element: Buttons

I was cleaning and organizing the other day and found several sheets of pre-stamped images that I had stamped at Joy's house some time ago - and never used them. These fun bee summertime images by Stampendous were perfect for the challenge. I love July 4th - the barbecuing, the fireworks, the eating and drinking, family and friends, all of it, so I made my card a fun 4th of July card to celebrate summer.

The images are colored with Copics, highlighted with Glaze pens, Stickles and Flower Soft™.
The card is not any standard size as I built it around the images that I'd cut with a Nestabilitie Circle Die, so the finished card is 7-7/8" x 3-1/4".

You can check out the other gals who are playing over at SCS by searching using the keyword: DCOUT609

Remember you can always click on any picture and it will open up larger for better viewing. :)

Happy Summer!
V.~

OMG! I think this is about the cutest 4th of July card I've ever seen! You've totally captured what the 4th is all about in one little 'ole card! Love it!

Val, I love your card!! I've been trying to find these stamps everywhere and they're so hard to find. You've gone great work with them. I love the combination.

This card is ADORABLE!!

I laughed that the restricted items are "buttons!" I had to wonder if it had anything to do with Velveeta!!
