WCMD OCL Jolly Ornaments Blog Candy!

In celebration of World Card Making Day, how about a little blog candy? To enter, just leave a comment on this post and tell me if you make your own holiday cards to send out, do a family photo card, or are you wild and get store bought cards after the holidays to use for the next year? I admit, I did that for years! Now I make ours, on a limited basis as we've scaled our list down in recent years. If you make your own, you'll have fun with this set which has variety of ornaments and holiday sentiments to choose from to make your cards and tags.

I will draw a random winner for this set, Craft Clear Jolly Ornaments by Our Craft Lounge, on Sunday night 7pm Pacific Standard Time.

*****fine print*****
  • one comment per person - multiples will be deleted
  • as I ship from my home, you must have a US address to be eligible
  • if you are comfortable doing so, please leave your email in your post
  • if not, that's okay, just be sure to check back for the winning results on Sunday night and email me within 1 day with your snail mail address
  • if the winner cannot be reached within 1 day, a new winner will be drawn
I've scheduled another blog candy giveaway for after lunch (12:01 PST), come on back and enter that contest, too! We'll be up in Temecula for a few hours at Morgan's first post-injury soccer game. She's excited to get back in there, I'm a tad nervous!

Good Luck!

V.~

Comments are now closed. Off to draw the winner!

Hey Val,
So you're coming to my neck of the woods for soccer- good luck in your game. Well, with xmas cards I do a little of each. I usually have a stamp a stack card making party then I stamp all my cardsa at once to send out after the Thanksgiving holiday. If I happen to be on schedule I include a family photo too. Thanks for the chance at blog candy. Have a great time in Temecula. :O)

I make all my Christmas cards, usually somewhere between 70-80, including very personalized ones for my immediate family. I get bored with just one design, so I always plan on several different card designs, and never manage to get them finished early. LOL
Love your Jolly Ornaments card, Val!

I make all my Christmas cards; 25-35 a year. All the same design in past years but I'm thinking of doing a couple of different designs this year just to keep things interesting. Thanks for the chance to win a fun looking set. jmniffer

Ooohh, I make mine. I always set out to make clean and simple and instead I decide to add and embellish and they turn into more complicated designs. Does that happen to anyone else? I have about 80 on my list - so I pretend it's a giant SWAP. :)

Good luck at the game today!

From all the way over here in Maine I just wanted to say thanks for having such a great blog, Val!

I make some of my own Christmas cards and a few gifts too. Don't want to get so stressed out doing it that I forget to enjoy the holidays!

Good luck to your daughter today.

I vary year to year. Last year I made my cards which included a photo of the kids. This year I had bought several sets of photo cards at the "after" holiday sale so will be sending those out this year. I do love to make holiday gifts though so this set would be perfect for that!

If I can get a early start I make my cards. This year I am making all my gift tags and have already started that project. Thanks for the chance to win this fun set!

I love to make my own Christmas cards! To me it's another wonderful part of the holiday. I also try to give handmade gifts to the kids in the family, those were always my favorite things growing up!

For many years, like you, I would buy after Christmas to send the next year! For quite a few years now I've hand crafted our Christmas cards & usually find a way to incorporate a picture. Thanks for the candy! ;-)

Love your card. It's so pretty. I would like to say I make my cards but we do a photo one every year. I have thought of making those but the time just gets away from me and it just does not get done.

Terrific card, Valerie! I make all my own Christmas cards and have every year since I started stamping about 10 years ago. My list has gotten larger over the years, too, so now I make about 60 cards or each year. I've already begun this year's cards so I can get them all finished in time!

Your sneak peeks were fun. Love the Christmas card. I make all my cards for each holiday. Haven't even started thinking about Christmas yet--just trying to get past Halloween! Guess I'd better get busy, huh? Thanks so much for offering the prize. It would be fun to win!

I make my own Christmas card to send to friends and family...around 60.

I love your card! I have been making my Christmas cards for the past three years. Each year I make around 50, but I try to make five each month so that I'm not so stressed out during the holidays. Each month I make a different design, so I have a little variety. Thanks for the chance to win the blog candy!

Cute set!! I have never made my own cards in the past, however, this past february I got into stamping and paper crafting. Now I have what seems like a million dollars in supplies. So Im hoping to make some :D. This set would certainly be perfect to do it!!

Cute set! Happy cardmaking day to you as well! I have been making my own Christmas cards for 10 years or so now! I make up to around 60...and of course I haven't even started yet!

I'm trying to get better about making them in time to send out for Christmas! So sometimes I'm a good girl and I make my own and sometimes I'm bad and go store bought! Thank you for giving us a chance to win!

I just stopped by your blog by way of Score-pal. What a great blog--so many great ideas!

As far as Christmas cards, I make the ones for close friends and family. As for the rest (mostly business) I send store bought cards.

Hi Valerie
You card is super cute. I really like that you incorporated the blue with the traditional red and green.

I like to make my own cards for Christmas. I usually have about three or four different styles when it's a said and done.

Thanks for the chance to win.

Adorable card and set! I love your colors and layout! :)

I DO *try* to make my Christmas cards, I but I don't think I even sent them out last year! LMBO! I did make some... but then didn't get around to addressing/mailing them. OOPS! I cannot stand mass production, so I make one of each design... that doesn't make for very productive Christmas card making. LOL

Sara said...

I always buy cards after Christmas for the next year. Several years ago I came across a great deal and still have a good amount in my stash. Since I just started to make cards, I'll make cards for immediate family and close friends but use the store bought ones for everyone else.

hi Val-
I'm so glad I found your blog. Okay, to answer your question, I usually make a photo card of my dog to give away, but this year I'll probably make a few handmade cards to send out and make more photo cards. I love that stamp set so thanks for the chance to win! e-mail kelli001@hawaii.rr.com.

Take care and happy WCMD day! Aloha from Hawaii

No, I don't send any cards out. However, I do create a family poem letting friends know what is happening in the lives of my children and myself. That poem does get decorated appropriately.

This tradition began in 1972 and is still going strong!

What a super cute set!!!! I usually make my cards, but I only do about 50 now. I usually do about 10 super-involved cards for close family, then the rest are usually scaled down a bit.

Great holiday set! I always start out to make ALL my holiday cards, but something always gets in the way, so I usually end up with hand-made for family and a very few close friends. The rest get the "on sale" from last year. I'M HOPING THIS YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT! :)

You are so generous with the blog candy, Val! I've done both in the past...bought cards and made them. One year, i got so behind that I found Epiphany cards at a store and mailed them after Christmas instead! ha ha! This year, I'll make just a few, as I'm scaling Christmas way back this year. But this ornament set is just adorable!

I make my own cards. Usually 3-5 different designs. Mostly so I can use what I have on hand and don't go broke buying paper packs so they all match.

I love to make my own cards- I just think It gives such a personal touch and sort of makes them unique- not the sort of stock standard stuff u buy at the shops. Hugs Debra

I always have good intentions of making my own xmas cards but usually end up having to buy a few also. I try to send the handmade ones more to family and close friends and the storebought to others on my list but this stamp set is so simple and cute I may be able to do more handmade this year. ajturner68@hotmail.com

Oh my - I'm a card maker but not much of a card giver! I always intend to make my own Christmas cards...and usually I do complete enough of them to cover my list of family and friends. Somehow I don't always mail them out in time and then I rush around mailing the friend ones and attach the family ones to their wrapped gifts. Each year I turn myself into one big holiday mess!

Kathy Kelsheimer said...

Hi, I make all my Christmas cards - usually around 120 with a couple of designs. This year I am also making Christmas cards for my brother (only 12), my mother (only 20) and my father-in-law (only 80). So I am a busy person...and could really use this blog candy! Thank you for the chance! shecop@charter.net

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. This will be the first year that I have made ALL of my cards---that is an accomplishment for me since I mail about 150 cards each Christmas! We live hours away from both families so I think the least I can do is send cards to cousins, aunts and uncles and then I send cards to friends and clients and it just adds up but that is fine with me. A card tells someone you are thinking of them and that you care about them--what could be better? I love this stamp set and would love to win it to make more cards and share with other stamping friends. Thanks!

jdgilch@msn.com makes her own Christmas cards. Like, Val, I make a very limited number as not too many family members are card worthy. It's "painful" to send a card to someone who will "86" it after the painstaking measures it took to make it!! The "candy" would mean so much to me!!!

This is such a great set! The norm for me is getting family photo cards made but with this set I may have to make my own!! :-).

Great holiday stamp set. we do a combination of handmade and store bought. We send a lot (100+) cards so I could not get them made unless I started in January!

I make most of my own cards for Christmas...I like to recycle ones that are very pretty I have recieved in the past and also use them for gift tags too! I don't care much for photo cards.....sorry.

Love your blog- your work is always inspiring!
