19 years worth~
Our 19th wedding anniversary is coming up and I thought my slump was going to continue and I wouldn't be able to make Jay a card............in case you haven't noticed, posts have been far and few between for the last several months with a serious case of
slumpiness going on. I even had a farewell post all typed up as it felt very permanent.
BUT, today I was excited to make a card, saw it in my head the way I used to! Not only did I do it, I loved doing it! Here's hoping the slump is leaving! The bit of symbolism in this is the clock hands - they are on the 10 and the 12, our anniversary date. :)
Stamps are from the Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Collection from Michaels Arts & Crafts - I wanted a new set and I wanted it today so supporting one of my fav online stores was out of the question.....so off to Michaels I headed.
Ink is Vivid!, Memento and Versafine
Cardstock is Pure Luxury Ivory by Gina K Designs
Patterned paper is from the Wanderer Collection by Basic Grey
Other: Mini brad, Tim Holtz Piercing Ruler, Distressing tool, Black grosgrain, Buttons, Thread, Dimensional foam
Finished card is a new favorite size: 3-3/4" x 5-1/2"
Not a standard size but I like it very much!
On another note, there is always chatter amongst us papercrafters on what we use to take photos of our projects - from daylight outdoor shots to fancy lightboxes. I've always used a simple piece of posterboard (around 5o cents or so at Target or similar stores) flanked by the OTT lights I have on my counter. It works for me, plus I just don't have the room for a permanent set-up. The posterboard slides behind the hutch in the next room and is used until it's too beat up. Simple and cost effective for me.

Thanks for visiting!

Oh I'm so happy for you Val....that feeling of joyful creativity! Love the symbolism with the clock hands. And that's how I take my pics too. Though I should invest in one single sheet of poster board rather than two separate pieces.
Happy Anniversary!
Oh Val! My heart just sank when I read this post. I, for one, am very glad you've stuck it out. You would be so very sorely missed in the stamping community. I will wish you a happy anniversary early. And then I'm going to say some prayers that your fabulous mojo comes rushing back in waves! Big hugs!!
Love the card and love that you stamped even more! I'm glad the mojo kicked in
Love your card! Congrat's on 19 years of marriage!
I love it! Sometimes breaks are just needed even when they are difficult to deal with. I'm so happy to see you stamping!
Wishing you a Happy Anniversary!! <3
:) YAY! Fantastic card, Val! Happy that you enjoyed it!!! Happy (almost) Anniversary!
Yeah for you!!! So glad you've "got the feeling" and also, Happy Anniversary!
Val, its a fantastic card. I am so glad you enjoyed making it! I have had that happen to me, too. A step back to focus on something else is a good thing! Have a great anniversary!

Happy Anniversary (early)! Isn't it a great feeling when you turn the corner on a slump?! I know all about that Val! :) This card is ROCKIN'...LOVE IT!
GORGEOUS! Girl, I {heart} your style...you can NOT quit stamping (said in my most stern voice). ;)
That is exactly how I take my photos...except I'm still using the two sheets of paper!
Happy 19th anniversary, my sweet friend!
Happy Anniversary to you both!
I LOVE the card!! YOU did SUPER!!
You are far too talented to let go! I have been following your blog for literally years! I don't always have time to make a comment, but rest assured, you have been very inspirational to me! Please keep it coming!
Congrats all around, my friend: 19 years of marriage, and a sah-weet stamping comeback--this is a homerun!
Thank you for showing me a way to do photos that isn't one of the tents! I appreciate that very much.
Blessings to you always; you are an amazing crafter, and I always enjoy what you create. {{{BIG HUGS}}}
Love this Val, and love that it felt good for you to make! Hugs, buddy, and congrats on your anniversary!
I take my pics almost exactly the same way!
And I too thought about selling all my stuff about a year ago and just walking away from it all....but I am glad I didn't, because even the months I only make something once or twice - I really do still enjoy it!
