Bleached Silhouette~

Welcome to a fun Gina K. Designs Design Team hop! Today we are showing techniques of all kinds as featured on Stamp TV. We hope you enjoy hopping through the variety of techniques and are inspired to try something new!

I chose to use the bleach technique.  It has been awhile since I pulled out the bleach and used it in my crafting.  To make a bleach "stamp pad" use a plate and a folded up paper towel.  Pour a little bleach on the paper towel and let it absorb, then use as you would use an ink pad.

First thing I did was to stamp the image on every single color of Gina K Designs Pure Luxury colored cardstock that I own to see how the bleach would react to the properties of the cardstock.  It can differ paper batch to paper batch and age of bleach, so your experiment may be different than mine.

Most of them bleached out wonderfully with the exception of lavender, lilac and bubblegum pink.

I chose to go with the Chocolate Brown bleached cardstock.  The bleach created a golden orange color for the image.  After stamping I let it sit a little while to be certain it was dry and the bleach odor had dissipated a bit and then I followed up with a little bit of accent coloring using Prismacolor colored pencils.

Layout is based on the StampTV Sketch Challenge

Thanks for showing us the effect on all the different colors. I had not thought of using my Prismacolor pencils on a bleached image. How cool is that? Love your card.

Beautiful card. And what a great idea,I don't know if I'd ever have thought to try it on all those colors. I have used bleach to attempt to get a look on a scrabook page. It didn't work well. So I moved on, but I only tried it on a couple of colors. I haven't tried it with stamps. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hugs, Jessica

This is cool. I've not tried using bleach on the stamp, but have used bleach to color in an object which is fun to do.

I am a fly-by-nighter just like you. I too, wish I was just a little more organized to work like some of the other. I do love this technique and having never used Gina's cs, would love to get a closer look at it. Thanks.

I've never thought of the bleach leaving other colors than just the white. I tried using this method years back - may just have to try it again. Your card is just stunning. Thank you for sharing.

Great technique and good idea trying it on different colours cardstock and I assume keep for a reference. Love the card you created and the colour accent on the flowers is great.

I was taught to use a white piece of felt instead of paper toweling for the bleach pad. It works well and you can leave the felt in a covered tray for next time. :)
