Merry, Merry!

We decorated early this year on December 1st, much earlier than I usually set things out.  I tend to get tired of the clutter around the house, even though things are cute and sparkly.

This is my newest Anna Wight ornament for this year.
He now sits with the candy canes and star from previous years.  I think of her every time I hang them on the tree.

Jay added to my Swarovski snowflake collection this year again, they are so pretty and reflective on the tree!

Much requested peanut butter blossom cookies.  I caved and baked this year ( in the past I have crossed baking off my list), but these delicious morsels of chocolate, peanutty goodness are so good!

And finally the annual boxes I make each year filled with delicious morsels of Fantasy Fudge to hand out to friends and family.

For the fudge boxes, I used Echo Park's holiday papers from last year, an EK tree punch, WPlus9's heart die and a couple of Nestabilities Circle and Scallop Circle dies.  A Paper Smooches banner salutation adds a little cheery greeting.  Finished box made on my Scor-Pal is 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" and is lined with wax paper to fit 9 snuggled pieces of fudge.

I wish all of you a very Happy Holiday and Healthy, Safe New Year!

January 2013 is the start of many great things!

See you in the New Year!

Valerie

It's Not Just for Valentine's....

WPlus9 has another great set of stamps and dies in their newest release.
Yes, they are geared towards Valentine's Day, but I couldn't resist using them for a wedding card for a dear friend who is getting married this month.

Stamps: Banner Love (heart flag) and Heartfelt Mix (sentiment) by WPlus9
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Paper: GKD Pure Luxury Ivory, SU! Mambo Melon, Silver
Patterned Paper: Keynote from the Lovely Collection by Authentique
Dies: Cupid's Arrow Die, XOXOXO Border Die and Hearts & Clouds Die by WPlus9
Other: Corner Rounder, Sewing machine, Dimensional foam

Do you find that you use stamps for their intended purposes only or mix them up for other occasions?

Holiday Cheer Cards. Finished.

As mentioned in a previous post for cards for the troops, this design was utilized for our family cards this year.  The only change was finding the dotted embossed Bazzill paper.

Supplies- Stamps: Holiday Sampler by Paper Smooches; Ink: Memento Love Letter;  Paper:Neenah and Bazzill; Patterned Paper by Echo Park; Twine by Lawn Fawn; Banner and heart die by WPlus9; Tree punch by EK Success; Tag corner punch by SU!; Dimensional foam

Jay always needs a half dozen or so cards for customers to go along with a gift of See's candy.  This card is just right, simple, yet masculine enough, with just a hint of metal with the brads.

Supplies- Stamps: Sentimental Holiday by Gina K Designs; Ink: White Pigment by SU!, Coffee Bean by Vivid! (no longer available); Paper: Fresh Asparagus by GKD, Neenah and Kraft; Patterned Paper by Authentique; Tree punch by EK Success, Antique mini brads from Starlit Studio, Piercer and Mat, Dimensional foam

And finally, Morgan took this picture of Riley posing in front of our tree (a treat dangled to persuade her to pose!) and I made a few flat photo cards to send out to a select few.  This was by far the easiest way to make a card this year and I may choose to do this in the future!

They are all signed, sealed and ready to pop into today's mail to be delivered!

Do you mail out cards any longer?  Seems like every year we get fewer and fewer.
